SORRY WE’RE OPEN: Lecture by Françoise Vergès

Scholar Françoise Vergès works and lives in Paris, France. She has published extensively on postcolonial theory, migration politics, creolization, slavery and the economy of predation as well as the anti-colonial thinkers Frantz Fanon and Aimé Césaire. She has also directed two movies on the  Caribbean authors Aimé Césaire and Maryse Condé and organized a number of exhibitions at the Louvre on slavery and women.
During SORRY WE'RE OPEN Vergès will present a lecture on Muslim women and men in the cities of Europe: how they are policed and how they answer, and about the criminalization of the Black body in society.
